"Private" FTP?

I'm sure I'm missing a simple feature of DreamHost, but so far I haven't had any luck finding it.

I'm trying to figure out how to set up FTP access for a group of people to a specific directory. We need to share a large number of audio files for a project we're editing, so they need to be able to log in using FTP and upload and download files.

I know there's the "Anonymous FTP" service on DreamHost, but surely there's some way to set up a login-only option?

Unless you are talking about a "web accessible" directory, just establish an additional FTP user, and pass those credentials to the members of the group.

I have no idea what you mean by a "log-in only option".

If you are talking about a *web accessible* directory, you can always protect a directory via password protection. None of this should even be necessary however if you want your group members to be able to use FTP - they can download as well as upload any of the "shared" files via the shared FTP account, so there would be no need at all to even have the directory be web accessible.
