Ok. Dumb Question.

On users/manage users what do I put by "full name". Can anything go or what?

the answer is to put a full name. anything will go

you still use the username to log in

You could just retype the username again. But when you have a few tens of usernames you tend to get confused which user belongs to which site without checking your log book. So you might want to be descriptive there.
