Does Dreamhost offer a Domain backorder service?

Nope. I actually used GoDaddy's when I was a customer there and actually got one I backordered. Looking back, GD could have been squatting the domain, as it wasn't due to expire for a while and I was surprised I was able to get it.

I would check where the domain you want is registered, then see if that company offers a grabbing service. If so, I'd use that one, since they could give an advantage to those that use their system.
