View website w/o domain?

So I'm used to a cPanel/WHM setup where I can see any of my sites by going to MyHostingSite.com/~user. I'm trying to figure out if I can do that with DreamHost.
So I have a domain setup, it's just that the domain name is currently pointing to different servers, and I don't want to change it until I have the site all ready and up. How can I view what I currently have uploaded on my DreamHost site?
Let's say I have 'user' on 'mydomain.com', so the web directory is at /home/user/mydomain.com/, and it's on DreamHost's 'fitzpatrick' server. What web address can I type into my browser to preview my DreamHost site?
