Using all 7TB of bandwidth?

So, I'm browsing through my Excellent Dreamhost Panel one day, and I notice I've got... 7TB of bandwidth. What, really?

I'm on a Dreamhost PS, so does that mean I can really use that 7TB bandwidth a month? And I'll only get charged 1 cent/GB over?

I mean, if I suddenly lose my mind and decide to host all the world's porn and porn-like substances, as long as I only transfer 7TB a month, a Dreamhost hitman wouldn't rappel into my room one night and jab me with a leaky ink pen until I disabled my account?

Yes, all 7TB is for you. But you will have to read TOS carefully. There are certain terms on how to use your disk space.

Yea, as long as the content is legal (not streaming the latest Hollywood movies or making up your own MP3 farm!)

The other problem you might run into before bandwidth caps is CPU usage. Sites serving a lot of video could easily get into this problem from what I've heard

Thanks for the feedback! I was mostly interested in streaming video.

I'm curious to hear if someone uses their account to mirror a Linux distro. It's not CPU intensive, and at 500+ Megs a pop, would eat up a lot of bandwidth.

I've considered it, but haven't really observed a shortage of mirror sites for the distros I use. In other words, I don't think I'd add any value.

Then again, I only use the "major" distros.

Here are some specific examples of things not allowed:

* File upload / sharing / archive / backup / mirroring / distribution sites.

No mirror sites according to the "unlimited" usage conditions

I see that in the Unlimited Policy on DH's main page. So it doesn't appear to apply to regular accounts. Plus, I can't find any mention of "mirror" in the Terms of Service.
