Question about Terms Of Use

I know in the Terms of Use it says that running an IRC-type program on shared servers is prohibited, but is it alright if we have a domain we've registered with Dreamhost point to an IRC server, like irc.domain.com, as long as the IRC service isn't actually being hosted on the Dreamhost shared server?

Yeah, it's just the persistent processes that they can't support on the shared servers.
