Really simple question

Really simple question

OK..simple question that's driving me nuts.

Let's say that my domain is www.hoover.com (that's not my real site name). I want to make a homepage at that address. I've made my page on the Mac program, Freeway, and I've uploaded it. LOOKS GREAT! The only problem is...I can only see the website if I go to: www.hoover.com/welcome.html. How can I make it so when I type in www.hoover.com it automatically takes me to www.hoover.com/welcome.html? Thanks in advance.

Two ways:

1) Rename welcome.html to index.html

or

2) Create an .htaccess file with a DirectoryIndex directive in it to make welcome.html your "default" page. More on that can be found on the DreamHost Wiki:

Thank you ONE MILLION TIMES, RLParker. The index idea worked perfectly!
