cap restart errors

I keep getting the following errors when I run cap deploy. It seems that I cannot restart the server. I look in my tmp/pids folder and see that nothing is there. Does anyone know how to fix this. I see others have had this error but I've never seen and explanation on how to fix.
Couldn't find any pid file in '/home/lukecampbell/sjsnetworking.com/current/tmp/pids' matching 'dispatch.[0-9]*.pid'
