it has been done, though most find to be a difficult process. You will have to compile your own version of PHP, and install many other libraries and software packages to get this to work.

Rather than go over all of that *again*, search these forums for those terms, and you will find ot only many answers to your questions, but at least one person offering to install such software for you on DremHost for a fee.
