wordpress can't log out

greetings, i installed a wordpress blog and have rec'd some help in the past few days (under username chunky...long story) and hoping to get a bit more.
i am unable to logout of the wordpress admin site.
i tried on another computer...logged in fine but couldn't log out on that computer either.
also, while logged in of course, i added a user with the role of editor and i established a user name and password. i go to the wp-admin page and it will not log in my new user
any ideas
