Hi there!

So, JSON is a super relevant protocol in the WEB 2.0 world, and in order to effectively parse it in RAILS (or ruby), we need the "json" gem. It's really hard to freeze it locally (I have yet to be able to) and it also runs much faster if it has the native bindings installed...

So...

Please add it to the list of pre-installed gems, and keep Dreamhost gemtastic!

This isn't a support forum, it's a customer-to-customer forum.
So you might consider filing a ticket through the control panel and see if support will install it for you. Usually, from what I understand, they will install them from time-to-time for you. Otherwise I'm pretty sure you could just login to the terminal and install it yourself wink
