Better polling solution?

Hi--
Advanced Poll is really too basic for my needs. I need tick boxes and other options. Short of writing something myself, does anyone have other suggestions?
I'm doing some preliminary research and I'd rather use something I can control myself, rather than use Survey Monkey.
