WordPress - run PHP as CGI?

I'm having problems exceeding the CPU time on my Dreamhost account after converting a busy blog over to WordPress.

I've heard switching off the "run PHP as CGI" option will help this problem, but I've also heard this will screw up the features in WordPress.

Have any of you tried this? Results, advice?

I don't know about running PHP as CGI, but I know about this, and it will probably solve your problem.

I had my WP blog www.ashchan.com run PHP as CGI. Didn't remember the detailed steps. The main work was to change permission on some sub-folders.
