WordPress upload images problem

I got an account yesterday and I used the one-click install option to create a blog with WordPress. Everything went fine except that I cannot upload images with the posts using the upload form below the post.
The upload folder is the default wp-content/uploads and I tried both chmod 755 and 777. Options > Miscellaneous is is set to wp-content/uploads.
The error message I get when I am trying to upload an image is "Failed to write file to disk."
I tried with a second blog and I got the same...
Any idea?
