This article describes how to set up Movable Type 3.2 to work with LightTPD and FastCGI:

I suppose this doesn't quite match Dreamhost's FastCGI setup, but it does open up the possibility of running Movable Type under FastCGI on a Dreamhost server. Anybody have any ideas of how it could be done?

Here's an article that describes how to adapt Brad Choate's instructions for use with an Apache FastCGI setup:
