Trouble installing Boonex/Dolphin

Hello all. I tried to install Dolphin today and ran into a problem with a "magic quotes" error. I've done quite a bit of reading up on it today, tried an htaccess workaround and a php.ini workaround and am still no closer to having it work. Has anyone else tried this, and had success with it?
