member section/web access using mailman password

Hi,
I would like to use the mailman user account data (login+password) to have a member section.
I simply would like to prevent the user having two login and password for (1) the member section and (2) the mailing list of the website.
Currently, I believe I don't have access to a number of files such as the password file of MM.
Is that possible to have access to these file?
