Problem with receiving mail from Joomla

I am using the latest version of Joomla on my site and users cannot receive email notifications. My mail settings are as follow:
Mailer: Sendmail
Sendmail path: /usr/sbin/sendmail
SMTP Authentication: No
SMTP Host: localhost
Are these correct?
