where are gallery comments stored?

After several disastorous attempts to upgrade my gallery1 install using both dreamhost's setup and one-click installs and manually I've given up on it and gone over to zenphoto. However I'm trying to extract out my comments and can't seem to find where they're stored. I've looked in my copy of the gallery directory and in the database but can't see anything. Does anyone know where the dreamhost gallery1 one-click install keeps the comments?
